This is an annotated analysis meta of the Kizuna movie, made because there were a large number of details in the movie that I felt warranted analysis and attention (and also a number of interesting questions). This is only my personal interpretation, and because there is a lot to unpack with this movie, please feel free to disagree with or disregard any of my interpretations here.
Dialogue translations are heavily based off of onkeikun's translation of the novel.
Please note that this is written with the assumption you have already seen the movie, so there are spoilers for the later parts even in the earlier comments.
Someone types on a keyboard — We aren’t so elderly yet that we simply accept a future that has been decided by someone else. In order to reach a higher stage, we are willing to do anything.
This isn’t a memoir. It’s a new story of us and our Digimon.
The word "story" turns into "Adventure", and words disappear until the words "Digimon Adventure" are left.
The story begins on an aurora spreading over the globe, causing lights to go haywire, as Bolero plays.
The next morning, in Tokyo, the aurora has faded, with the news reporting on it, as people all around check their smartphones. An electric spark dances around a telephone wire, causing a portal to appear, and from it emerges a Parrotmon.
As a giant gust of wind starts to blow, a woman is saved from a falling telephone pole by Angemon — accompanied by his partner, Takeru. Takeru is contacted on an earpiece by Hikari, who had just arrived.
Hikari, also on the scene, calls in Angewomon, who fights Parrotmon as well.
Hikari calls to her brother, Taichi, waiting on a bridge and wearing a pair of high-tech goggles, accompanied by his partner, Agumon. Taichi readies his smartphone Digivice to evolve Agumon...but as Parrotmon approaches, the high-tech goggles go haywire, forcing him and Agumon to flinch and barely avoid an attack.
Taichi chews out Koushirou on his earpiece, and Koushirou, back at the office with a bottle of oolong tea, reminds Taichi that the goggles are a prototype.
Getting back up, Taichi evolves Agumon to Greymon, and Greymon and Parrotmon begin battle.
Koushirou says that a Digital Gate will appear in ninety seconds, and so the team will need to lead Parrotmon there in order to send it back to the Digital World. On the group voice call, the others agree.
Parrotmon knocks over Greymon, so Taichi sends in Hikari, Takeru, and their partners in.
The fight ends up causing damage to a building, causing people to scatter. Takeru sends in Angemon to help the civilians.
