Narrator: "All were born out of the scorching heat. Beings that create and beings that destroy. Coexisting, yet mutually opposed...Finally, to return to the scorching heat..."

We see what seems to be the Village of Beginnings, with all of the eggs ravaged and destroyed. Ogremon, clearly infected, continues to lay waste to it, striking fear into the caretaker Elecmon. He is stopped by Leomon, who ends up taking a small cut on his chest from the infected Ogremon, but successfully drives Ogremon away.

Looking on is someone who resembles the Digimon Kaiser...

Hackmon continues to lurk around Odaiba.

At her home, Meiko and Meicoomon get ready to go out.

At the Yagami residence, Hikari goes to fetch Taichi for breakfast, and, noticing that Taichi still seems to be morose, reassures him that she thinks they did the right thing and things would have gotten worse if they hadn't intervened.

Mimi and Palmon come to greet the siblings, and it's revealed that the group is going to a hot spring outing.

Nishijima and Himekawa turn out to be going to the hot springs as well, with Nishijima cheerfully musing in the van about their first hot springs trip together. (The subject seems to be a bit awkward for both.) As it turns out, they're both going as part of their work to observe the children.

Himekawa gives Nishijima an analysis saying that the Infected Digimon seem to be trying to hunt someone in particular. The two of them seem to already know who it is.

Meiko meets up with the others, and it's revealed that they're throwing a "welcome party" for her, hence why they're going on a hot springs trip.

Yamato and Taichi still seem to be on bad terms, and Jou seems to be recusing for more studying for exams, although Gomamon seems to be going.

The kids decide, on Mimi's suggestion, not to put the Digimon in Koushirou's cyberspace, and have them imitate stuffed animals.
